We took our 10-year old daughter to camp today. It was only about 100 degrees Fahrenheit when we dropped her off. We were quite relieved that she gets to sleep in an air conditioned cabin.
For the first time, I could really tell that she was nervous. She's usually quite adventurous and outgoing, but today she was talking even more than usual, plus she talked louder and faster than she usually does.
The really good news is that as soon as we got out of our car, she spotted a girl who is in her class at school! So right away she saw a familiar face. The other girl was in a different section of the camp, but they would at least get to see a little bit of each other.
Diego is going a little crazy without the kids around. (Our 7 year old is spending the week at Grandma's house.) He's just running around like crazy, meowing, knocking things over. What a nut.
