Weekend in review

Despite the illness in my household, I think I managed to pack a pretty full weekend. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not acknowledge most illnesses. Diseases, yes, but anything that can be treated with simple antibiotics really is nothing to lay around in bed all day over. Runny, stuffy noses and coughs shouldn't prevent a person from pulling their weight, especially if said person already took off a whole day of work already.

I took down the outside Christmas lights, vacuumed, cleaned bathrooms, dusted, cooked, shopped, and still managed to finish The Ersatz Elevator. I also made a birthday card, hand wrote an actual letter and addressed and stamped the envelope, so that I can get the card to its recipient on time.

Granted, I sort of weaseled out of playing the synth Saturday night and Sunday morning. Since I woke up Sunday morning with a splitting headache, I suppose it was okay. Hm, colds I don't believe in, but headaches are crippling. Back to wearing the bite guard all day again.

In retrospect, I probably would have enjoyed playing the synth, not so much because of playing the synth, but because I would have brought my flute and played that on a couple of songs. That would have been nice.

I also made a major decision regarding my social life. It's all too much. I'm pouring too much effort into projects producing too little satisfaction. In June, I'm quitting both Bunco and flute choir and joining a book club. I hope that people won't be angry with me, but ultimately, I don't really care if they are angry with me or not.

Wow, can it be midnight already? I shouldn't have taken a nap today.
