The weather forecasters are all a-flutter here, making predictions of 4-6 inches (possibly more!) of snow in the next 48 hours. Since it's getting late in the day and folks are starting to go home, everyone is joking "see you tomorrow, unless we're snowed in!" Har.
#1. This is the Midwest, not some wimpy little crybaby Southern state. The world does not stop for a little snow. And we're talking snow here, not ice. Sure, give us a really bad ice storm and travel is going to be dicey, but snow over 48 hours time is not going to be hard to keep up with.
#2. The weather forecasters here have such a big area to predict for that if you're not in the right place at the right time, the predictions have nothing to do with the suburb in which you live. Then there's the whole lake thing that throws everything out of whack as well. People living East of the lake inevitably get more snow than those of us on the West side of the lake.
At any rate, I made a public announcement that I'd be willing to put up $50 saying that in our suburb (and the immediate surrounding ones) we will not see more than 2 inches of snow total.
Will I prevail?? Your questions will be destroyed!! By answers!!
